Harry's Delayed -- But Don't Be Dismayed

If you’re feeling down because of the latest news concerning the new Harry Potter flick, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, we have a great costume party idea to share with you to help ease the strain of having to wait until July of 2009 to catch up on your favorite wizard’s latest adventures. While you won’t have the new flick to discuss during Thanksgiving dinner this year, you can always throw your own “Waiting for Potter” costume party to pay homage to that teenage wizard everyone loves.

According to a press release issued on August 14, 2008, the decision to push the latest edition of Harry Potter back until the summer 2009 is two-fold. Warner Brothers sites the writers’ strike as well as the success of the last Potter flick as being the key factors in the decision.

So, while there’s nothing we can do to speed the release of the film, we can always bide our time until July by breaking the tension with a Harry Potter themed costume party.

A themed costume party is a great way to socialize with friends and acquaintances and it’s considerably less expensive for the host than other social gatherings are. Everyone purchases their own costume, brings their own alcoholic refreshments and all you have to supply is the place, music, movies, and snacks.

From Harry, Gryffindor, and Slytherin to Dementor, Death Eater, and Voldemort, you can find sensational Harry Potter inspired Halloween costumes to throw a magically impressive Harry Potter theme party this year. Make it an adult party with Harry themed drinks such as wizard’s water (vodka) or magic brew (beer) or make it a kid’s party with a Harry Potter movie marathon and games. Either way, your “Waiting for Potter” theme party is sure to be a bit hit with Potter fans young and old.
